Anatomy of a Family Conflict ( a seminar at the Trento Un. School of Law on Dec 2, 2016)

An interesting meeting entitled
ASSISTED NEGOTIATION, MEDIATION AND COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE COMPARED
Analysis of a case-study

will be held on December 2nd  (from 2:30pm) at the University of Trento School of Law.

The event has been organized by Silvana Dalla Bontà and Carlo Mosca, with the aim to analyze how an interpersonal heated conflict (a divorcing couple) may be managed in three different ways.
Firstly, participants will see the case handled ina process of so called assisted negotiation, a newly introduced practice which requests the parties and their counsel to meet and seek a shared settlement solution. Then, the second scenario will show how the same negotiation can be handled by  lawyers specialized in collaborative practice, again an innovative process in which parties and cousel are all commited to act with transparency and in good faith. Finally, the case will be mediated, so a sensitive structural change will occur (i.e. parties and counsel will no longer be alone, but they will be helped by a neutral).
In sum, the meeting will encompass three different approaches (all innovative, in Italy at least) to conflict management, with the aim to offer the participants a fruitful opportunity either to see 'live' what usually happens in not secluded rooms, and to discuss the many interesting aspects that characterize the ADR processes.
Some of the most experienced practising professionals (Cristina Menichino, Elisabetta Zecca, Francesca King, and Antonio Nascimben) and some prof. Dalla Bontà's pupils (Jacopo Moscow, Alice Alessandri, Federica Simonelli) will attend to the meeting, as actors in the case-study, and as commentators as well.
